Favorite Songs Friday

Ok I know it's no longer Friday but I wanted to put it up anyway.
I immediately fell in love with this song a year and a half ago the first time I heard it. It's called "Since You've Been Around" by Rosie Thomas. It's such a beautiful song I'm sure you'll love it as much as me.

I’m wandering
I’m crawling
I’m two steps away from falling
Just can’t seem to get around

I’m heavy
I’m weary
I'm not thinking clearly
I just can’t seem to find solid ground
Since you’ve been around

I’m running
I’m hiding
I'm afraid you’ll never find me
‘cause I’ve always felt lost in a crowd

I’m sinking
I’m drowning
I’m so afraid of losing
My head’s been spinning round and round
Since you’ve been around

I’m foolish and crazy
I just think that maybe I gotta a lot of things to figure out
I’m winning
I’m losing
I’m afraid of never choosing this heart of mine, so
Beaten down
Before you came around

Highlights of the past 2 weeks! lol

Sunday: Me and my roommates, Katie and Kjerstin had a Jane Austen Marathon that turned into a musical marathon (ending with hairspray, which by the way I had never seen before) We even tried to dance like the people on Bride and Prejudice but failed miserably although I did pull off this one move that my roommate could not accomplish no matter how hard she tried lol
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday: wow... can't really remember much from those days... I do know I had fun with badminton!
Friday: I got to sleep in because my class was cancelled! Then that night me, Chrishelle, Katie, Kjerstin and Thomas went out to eat at Craigo's and then to see Macbeth together. The acting was awesome! but the play was tragic... very tragic in fact...
Saturday: and yet again don't remember a whole lot...
Sunday: I got to watch Masterpiece Theater: Persuasion
Monday: I applied for 4 different colleges
Tuesday: I got accepted into Olympic! and I came out of my Anatomy Physiology test feeling good...
Wednesday: I got accepted into both Green River and Spokane Falls
Thursday: I got to talk to Marie!
Friday: I got to talk to Marie again! and... Katie and I were left with the apartment to ourselves so we decided to have a little party just us 2 and we went to Gringo's which was delicious and we came out of there so full we had to walk around a little bit before we went to the theater to watch Leap Year. Leap year I have to say was one of the most awesome movie I have seen this year... I love that movie... even though I knew what was going to happen from the very beginning I couldn't help but love it...
Saturday: Today so far I don't really know... I got to sleep in so I guess that would definitely be a highlight lol

Favorite Songs Friday

This week I chose the song "Let it Be" by The Beatles. I have always always loved this song and yesterday when I heard Kris Allen sing this on American Idol to raise money for the Haiti cause, my love for it was renewed. This is such a great song, and I thought I'd share it today.

When I find myself in times of trouble, mother Mary comes to me,

speaking words of wisdom, let it be.
And in my hour of darkness she is standing right in front of me,
speaking words of wisdom, let it be.

Let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be.
Whisper words of wisdom, let it be.

And when the broken hearted people living in the world agree,
there will be an answer, let it be.
For though they may be parted there is still a chance that they will see,
there will be an answer. let it be.

Let it be, let it be, .....

And when the night is cloudy, there is still a light, that shines on me,
shine until tomorrow, let it be.
I wake up to the sound of music, mother Mary comes to me,
speaking words of wisdom, let it be.

Let it be, let it be, .....

Since I missed last week due to a REALLY crazy week I will go ahead and post the one I would have chose last week. So here it is "History in the Making" by Darius Rucker. This is such a great song! I love it!

Don’t move Baby Don’t move

Awww look at you

I just want to take this in
The moonlight dancing off your skin
Our time Lets take our time
I just want to look in your eyes
and catch my breath
Cuz I just got a feeling

This could be one of those memories
We want to hold on to, cling to,
one we can’t forget
Baby, this could be our last first kiss
The door to forever
What if this was that moment
That chance worth taking
History in the making

Inside, baby inside
Can you feel the butterflies?
Floating all around
Cuz I can sure feel them now
Tonight, maybe tonight
Is a start of a beautiful ride
that will never end
And baby I’ve got a feeling

This could be one of those memories
We want to hold on to, cling to,
One we can’t forget
Baby, this could be our last first kiss
The door to forever
What if this was that moment
That chance worth taking
History in the making

Right here, right now
Holding you in my arms

This could be one of those memories
We want to hold on to, we want to cling to,
One that we can’t forget
Baby, this could be our last first kiss
The door to forever
What if this was that moment
That chance worth taking
History in the making

I am so blessed!

This past week has been life changing for me... literally. Before last Wednesday I hadn't even considered that I might be at the wrong school, why would I? I love it here! I guess I should start at the beginning...
Last Wednesday I was really stressed out because I had a test the next day that I was totally and completely NOT prepared to take and I had to be ready to take it by 11 am the next day. I was so overwhelmed in fact that I was basically begging my mom to let me quit even though I knew I didn't want to. So finally after talking to my mom and then my dad and also to my good friend Jordan, I finally got my emotions under control, buckled down and studied my butt off for the test the next day.
The next day I took my test, which I didn't do amazing on but I did ok, then I went to the advising office and changed my emphasis to something that would fit my career choice better. But I wasn't sure if that was really the only thing I should do... I was kind of feeling like there was more for me to do. So I talked to my mom about it... and we started looking for schools that had a physical therapy program that I could switch into later on... but the next day I was still feeling like it wasn't enough... so mom and I started looking into other schools too... and I don't remeber exactly when or how it happened but I decided that I wanted to go to a school with a physical therapist assistant program. I decided that it would be a great idea because in 2 years I could be working as a physical therapist assistant and go to school to become a physical therapist at the same time which would be really nice because not only would I be getting some great experience, but I would also be able to at least partly pay my way through school which would be great because then I wouldn't have so many loans!
So starting Monday I filled out 4 applications to colleges in Washington: Whatcom, Green River, Olympic, and Spokane Falls. By the next day I had received an acceptance letter from Olympic, and on Wednesday I received 2 more! One from Green River and one from Spokane Falls.
Then Thursday I decided to go ahead and send an application into Mt. Hood because I figured even if I couldn't get into their physical therapist assistant program this year I could at least take a few classes there that would help me out with it.
Oh and I totally forgot! I think it was Monday that I decided that I wanted to get my associates here before I transferred so I went into the advising office to ask them how much more I had to do to get it and I found out after creating a cluster that I only had 2 more classes to take! YAY!!! So when I transfer I will have an associates here which means my credits will transfer better!
Oh yeah and I also had a test on Tuesday which surprisingly I felt I did really well on and I found out just now that I did much better than the last one!
So yes this week has been a hectic but a really great one!

Highlights of the week

Sunday: Watching the Superbowl for the first time and getting to spend time with Chrishelle and Katie!
Monday: Getting lost and taking the back roads to FHE... FHE was cool but spending time with Katie and Chrishelle laughing at the stupid map that threw us completely off... they labeled a road wrong so we thought we'd passed the one we needed but nope that was the road we needed but we decided to take a different road instead and explore a little... it was pretty fun.
Tuesday: We won yet another badminton match that day but when we went to singles I was sorely outmatched against the 2 guys I played, but the girl -  we were pretty even... of course I only scored once against Dane because he's freaking awesome! haha it's those drop shots of mine that are the best... give 'em a drop shot when they'll least expect it... except Dane is pretty much ready for anything... :D I also got to talk to first Brittany then Dad then Mom then Amber... it was a great day for talking to people lol
Wednesday: Taking the time to make Valentine Cards for some friends.
Thursday: Being sent home a little early... even though I needed the hours it was kinda nice to be able to go home earlier just because I was tired and then Katie and Chrishelle came to pick me up
Friday: I got to sleep in because Br. Lamph (the h is silent) is awesome and gave us a day off. Talking to Chandler! Winter Olympics opening ceremony was amazing! Words cannot describe how amazing it was... the guy who designed the stage is brilliant seriously I was mesmerized by it... could not take my eyes off the screen and I had my mouth hanging open too lol
Saturday: I got to spend the whole day working with my sister Rachel dipping strawberries to sell at Broulim's for Valentine's day. I'm so glad I got to spend the whole day with her, we had a few frustrating moments trying to keep up with how many we were selling and trying to make sure the prices were right but besides that it was a pretty good day. Then when I got home, Katie and I made dinner together... sadly the stir fry didn't turn out as amazing as planned I think I shoulda added more butter and garlic but besides that it was good!

Favorite Songs Friday

This week I chose the song "Skin" by Rascal Flatts. I really love this song, and it makes me cry pretty much everytime I listen to it... I just can't help it really... anyways here it is:

Sarabeth is scared to death
To hear what the doctor will say
She hasn't been well
Since the day that she fell
And the bruise, it just won't go away
So she sits and she waits with her mother and dad
Flips through an old magazine
Till the nurse with a smile
Stands at the door
And says will you please come with me
Sarabeth is scared to death
Cause the doctor just told her the news
Between the red cells and white
Something's not right
But we're gonna take care of you
Six chances in ten it won't come back again
With the therapy were gonna try
It's just been approved
It's the strongest there is
I think we caught it in time
Sarabeth closes her eyes
And she dreams she's dancing
Around and around without any cares
And her very first love is holding her close
And the soft wind is blowing her hair
Sarabeth is scared to death
As she sits holding her mom
Cause it would be a mistake
For someone to take
A girl with no hair to the prom
For, just this morning right there on her pillow
Was the cruelest of any surprise
And she cried when she gathered it all in her hands
The proof that she couldn't deny
Sarabeth closes her eyes
And she dreams she's dancing
Around and around without any cares
And her very first love was holding her close
And the soft wind is blowing her hair
Its quarter to seven
That boys at the door
And her daddy ushers him in
And when he takes off his cap
They all start to cry
Cause this mornin where his hair had been
Softly she touches just skin
And they go dancin
Around and around without any cares
And her very first true love is holding her close
And for a moment she isn't scared

What a day!

All in all today was a good day! Went to church, had some great lessons. Had a productive presidency meeting right after. Went home lounged around for the next hour and a half but still trying to concentrate on what I was supposed to be doing, then turned the TV on to watch the superbowl. Decided to miss the kickoff and take a walk with my roommates, Chrishelle and Katie, instead, had lots of fun with that and we were able to talk about some stuff we've wanted to talk about. Then came back turned the TV back on to watch the superbowl and sorta helped make dinner but my roommates basically let me have the night off lol. Ate a delicious dinner during halftime then watched the finish of the game. Saints won 31-17 against the Colts! Good game guys! There were some pretty awesome plays tonight... and guess what? Today's superbowl was my first one! Not bad for a first! Then after it was over I ran up the stairs to Katie's room barged in and crawled on the bed with her and Chrishelle to watch 'The Best Two Years' with them. Such a great movie! Anyways it's been a busy day and so much fun! Can't believe it's already almost 10!

Favorite Songs Friday

So I decided to start out my blog with something I hope to continue, it's Favorite Songs Friday. Music happens to be one of my greatest loves in life and I think the music that you listen to tells a lot about you. So, every Friday I will post the lyrics to one of my favorite songs. Today I thought I'd post the lyrics to a song called "Live Like We're Dying" by Kris Allen.

Sometimes we fall down and can't get back up

We're hiding behind skin that's too tough
How come we don't say I love you enough

'Til it's to late, it's not too late

Our hearts are hungry for a food that won't come
And we could make a feast from these crumbs
And we're all staring down the barrel of a gun
So if your life flashed before you, what would you wish you would've done?

Yeah, gotta start lookin' at the hand of the time we've been given
If this is all we got and we gotta start thinkin'

If every second counts on a clock that's tickin'
Gotta live like we're dying

We only got 86 400 seconds in a day to
Turn it all around or throw it all away
We gotta tell 'em that we love 'em while we got the chance to say
Gotta live like we're dying

And if your plane fell out of the skies
Who would you call with your last goodbyes?
Should be so careful who we live out our lives
And when we long for absolution, there will no one on the line

Yeah, we gotta start lookin' at the hand of the time we've been given
If this is all we got and we gotta start thinkin' it
If every second counts on a clock that's tickin'
Gotta live like we're dying

We only got 86 400 seconds in a day to
Turn it all around or throw it all away
We gotta tell 'em that we love 'em while we got the chance to say
Gotta live like we're dying, oh, live like we're dying, oh, like we're dying
Like we're dying, oh, like we're dying

We only got 86 400 seconds in a day to

Turn it all around or throw it all away
We gotta tell 'em that we love 'em while we got the chance to say
Gotta live like we're dying

You never know a good thing 'til it's gone
You never see a crash until it's head on
Why do we think we're right when we're dead wrong?
You never know a good thing till it's gone

Yeah, gotta start lookin' at the hands of the time we've been given
If this is all we got, and we gotta start thinkin' it
If every second counts on a clock that's tickin'
Gotta live like we're dying

We only got 86 400 seconds in a day to
Turn it all around or throw it all away
We gotta tell 'em that we love 'em while we got the chance to say
Gotta live like we're dying, oh, like we're dying, oh, like we're dying
Like we're dying, oh, like we're dying

We only got 86 400 seconds in a day to
Turn it all around or throw it all away
We gotta tell 'em that we love 'em while we got the chance to say
Gotta live like we're dying
